Oral Biopsy

Oral Biopsy

If you or your dentist has noticed discoloration, non-healing sore, or a raised bump on your gums or cheek – it may be time to get the area evaluated. Sometimes our mouths get sores and they go away in one or two weeks. When they don't, it may be time to get the area biopsied. A biopsy is when the surgeon removes all or a portion of the area in question then submits it to a laboratory to be evaluated under a microscope. This type of analysis will provide a definitive diagnosis so that our patients can have peace of mind and the dental team will be able to provide appropriate treatment.
